Have you listened to Bruno Mars’ new album, The Romantic? It reminds me of his old albums Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Unorthodox Jukebox, and 24K Magic. If you like those albums, then you will love this album.
If I were to really pick a favorite song from the album, it would have to be “Risk it All” or “Dance With Me”. The song “Risk It All” is a song that is about a relationship where you would do anything and everything for your partner, and I just love that type of music when it comes to Bruno Mars. I feel like the song “Dance With Me” has a melody that is used for weddings and for slow dancing. Some other songs like “Something Serious” and “Cha Cha Cha” have more of a 70s Latin-R&B style, as well as “God Was Showing Off”, in which Bruno Mars was influenced by that style of music.
This album has become one of my favorites. I enjoy the 70s and 80s style of R&B, and I like how the whole album is basically wedding themed or based. We don’t get that type of music anymore. The lyrics, the tone, and vocal range on the entire album are just perfect. So, it’s nice to have an artist like Bruno Mars bringing back that style.
I interviewed my friend, who doesn’t go here, but she’s a big Bruno Mars fan! Her name is Kami, and this is what she said about the album. “I loved The Romantic. My favorite songs on the album were “Risk It All”, “Cha Cha Cha” and “Dance With Me.” I don’t dislike any songs on this album because they’re that good. I also like how every song has a different vibe to it, and it reminds me of his previous albums. I personally think he saved R&B music.” She also added, “Finally after 5-6 years he drops an album, and I mean an album of his own with no features on it; it was only him. Bruno Mars made a great comeback with The Romantic.”
I loved this album, and I know many people who also enjoyed it. If you like romance songs or R&B, I recommend listening to The Romantic. As Kami said, there isn’t a miss on this album whatsoever.
