Junior Prom is right around the corner, offering sparkling decor, metallic colors, strobing lights, music to dance along to, and more. With a masquerade theme, this year’s prom gives students a chance to step out of their comfort zone. Masquerade formal events first started in the fifteenth century to hide guests’ identity until midnight. This theme gave an opportunity for people to come together without the knowledge of knowing who they were.
To gather more details on the prom, I interviewed Jernee Dennis, who is a member of the Junior Class Council. She stated that “This year’s prom should be really fun especially with the theme, even if students aren’t allowed to wear masks on them, it should be interesting to see what outfits people will wear.” Junior Prom will take place on April 17th from 6-9 P.M. She also gave details about tickets, which go on sale March 16th and close March 31st. The tickets will be purchased through school cash online and there will be a 15$ admission fee. There will also be a Box Hill Pizzeria food truck that will have food available for purchase.
Even though masks aren’t allowed to be worn at the dance, you can always hold one or do other things to follow along with the theme. This theme prominently features black and gold colors, which can be found in many outfits and accessories. Overall, this event will give juniors an opportunity to spend time and celebrate together. Hopefully this night will be enjoyable and filled with memories students will not forget.
