This month, we are excited to showcase Ms. Gurrera, a loving Spanish II teacher at C. Milton Wright High School. An amazing member of the CMW staff for three years, Ms. Gurrera only currently teaches Spanish II. Her passion is helping students gain her love for the language!
Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Gurrera worked as a Math and Science tutor at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County). Her time as a tutor was spent focusing on others’ knowledge and education, but she soon realized her true passion was in teaching, and she was already teaching science and math, so she had the experience of teaching. She wanted to teach her classes because she loves the Spanish language and she got to lucky enough to live in Spain! Therefore, her journey into education began.
Her favorite class to teach is obviously Spanish II! Ms. Gurrera loves her classes for different reasons! She loves to teach because she gets to talk and teach them about her favorite language and help out when she can!
Outside of school, Ms. Guerra is a lover of the outdoors. Whether it’s taking a walk and enjoying the views or seeing all the different beauties of nature or just average things like traveling, she finds peace and inspiration in nature. She loves to paint outside of school as well, which helps her release all her inner creativity. A fun fact about Ms. Gurrera is that her favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate peanut butter.
Ms. Gurrera is a terrific example of what it means to be both a dedicated teacher and a person who inspires others to grow. We’re lucky to have her at C. Milton Wright! Go Mustangs!
