Dave’s Hot Chicken is a California-based chicken shop that has also been added recently
in Maryland. While others flocked to Canes this week, I decided to go to Dave’s with my
buddy and see what the hype was about. As I entered the building, they were playing Nu
Metal, and it was very loud and very bad. I think it was stained, and I found myself having to
scream for the server to hear my order. I got a chicken sandwich and so did my buddy, both
the hot flavor, though I got mac and cheese, and he got fries.
The walls were plastered with stock image spray paint that I didn’t think added anything to the aesthetic and was just kind of ugly. The food arrived around 5 minutes later, and it was good. They put this cayenne spice all over the chicken. That was very good; it wasn’t a flavor that I get very often from a
chicken sandwich. The sides me and my buddy ordered were both just ok. I wasn’t blown
away by the mac, and he wasn’t blown away by his fries. I don’t think he even finished
them.

Overall, the whole meal for me and my friend cost us $30.12, which is a decent price. I
would say that Dave’s is a 3.5/5 chicken shop, held back by too loud music which ruins the
ambiance and ugly spray paint on the walls that ruins the aesthetic.
