Are you interested in seeing a transformed snow-covered auditorium with music, magic, and storytelling? At C. Milton Wright, there will be a showing of the Frozen play, March 19th– 22nd. There are two different types of casts. One is called the “Blue Cast” and the other is called the “Green Cast”. The blue one will be March 19th, 7pm and March 21st, 7pm. The green one will be March 20th, 7pm and March 22nd, 3 pm. Once the lights dim and the music plays throughout the auditorium, the production of Disney’s Frozen the Musical will be brought to life by talented student performers.
This play will be located at Bel Air, Maryland, C. Milton Wright High School. This school provides a wide range of academic and extracurricular programs for students. Through the Stage Wright program, the school consistently produces high-quality shows that represent student creativity, dedication, and teamwork. This play will be performed as a Spring musical, and many students are very excited as they’ve been preparing for perfection. The musical will feature a cast of student performers who bring popular characters like Elsa and Anna to life with emotion and energy. Audiences should expect iconic songs like, “Let it Go” and “Do you want to Build a Snowman”, creative costumes, and set designs.
I interviewed Mara Weeks, who is a freshman at C. Milton Wright. She plays Anna in the Frozen play. I started by asking her what her favorite thing about her character, Anna is, and she said, “I love her constant energy and how spunky she is!” Next, I asked her what has been the most fun part about preparing for the performance. She said, “I love hanging out with my friends and just performing in general. The show is so much fun to do, and I specifically love my duets. Getting to sing and dance on stage with the cast is just the best feeling ever.” My next question to her was, what made her want to audition for Frozen. She said, “I love the show Frozen, and my friends were doing it, so I signed up almost immediately! Anna has been one of my dream roles for a while, so I figured it was worth a shot.” My last question was what advice you would give someone who is thinking about joining the theater in the future. She said, “Just go for it! When you find the right crowd, everyone is super nice and supportive. There’s a place for everyone on stage.”
The show will explore themes of sisterhood, courage, and self-acceptance which apply to all ages. This production can also build confidence and teamwork with students, show talent within the community, and bring families together for a shared experience. Through the hard work of the cast and directors, the showcase will represent talent, creativity, and collaboration. The show allows students to express themselves through acting, singing, and stage production while giving the audience a memorable experience. The production, in the end, proves that when students come together and share their talents, they can create something magical.
