Alysa Liu is a talented American figure skater who became famous at a very young age. She started skating for her difficult jumps and strong performances. At just age 13, she became the youngest U.S. women’s national champion and later competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
After the 2022 Olympic, Alysa retired from skating to focus on school and her personal life. In 2024, she decided to return to the sport because she missed skating. Her comeback was very successful, and she went to win the 2025 World Championship. Alysa’s journey shows her hard work, courage, and love for skating.
I decided to interview my friend Nani Milich about this young athlete and what she felt about the whole story. I first asked what she thinks makes Alysa Liu a special figure skater. She stated, “what makes Alysa so special is how young of an age she was when she became a professional figure skater”. Then I asked her, “Do you think her comeback makes her more inspiring? Why or why not? She stated “Alysa’s retirement is inspiring because she took a break to focus on herself and her happiness. Her comeback shows that it is okay to step away and still succeed later.”
In conclusion, Alysa Liu is an important skater to watch at the upcoming Olympics because of her strong jumps and confidence in the ice. Many people admire her comeback and believe she has a good chance to win a medal, possibly even gold.
