A Musical Collage

A Musical Collage

The Collage Concert, a new event in the C. Milton music department is Coming Back Around once again this year. This young tradition was born from the difficulty of having gatherings during covid. Now, in a post-covid world, it is just an opportunity for everyone to preview a bit of each group. This year, we get the joy of hearing the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, C. Miltones, and Ukulele Club. Chamber orchestra, advanced orchestra, guitar ensemble may also be there!

Wind ensemble, concert band, and jazz ensemble, all directed by Dr. Frisch have fun, energetic music prepared. Wind ensemble will be performing an arrangement of themes from How to Train Your Dragon- frankly one of the best movie scores of the 2010s- and Whiplash by Randall D. Standridge. The concert band is set to play Starfire Fanfare and The Incredibles (one of the most iconic movie themes of the 2000s). The music for jazz ensemble is yet to be decided, but it will surely be great considering Dr. Frisch’s continual great choices and incredible ability of the musicians.

Mr. Karolenko’s selections are centered around the theme of “colors.” The acapella group, the C. Miltones will sing “Behind These Hazel Eyes” by Kelly Clarkson and “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper. The Combined choir will perform the classic, “Mr. Blue Sky” by the Electric Light Orchestra. The selections for the rest of the ensembles will be a surprise!

Be sure to come to this year’s Collage Concert on Thursday, May 2nd at 6pm for entertainment, fun, and a beautiful day at C. Milton Wright!
