Are you looking for good recipes to make this year? Well, every month me and Mrs.Drzik will team up and release the recipe of the month. This month is a seasonal savory sandwich. The “Bacon and apple grilled cheese”
All you’ll need is a little butter, sourdough bread, sharp cheddar, bacon and a honey crisp apple. Hot honey, caramelized onion jam and thyme are amazing additions, but not necessary.
I’d recommend cutting the apple first and setting it aside to grab later. After that cook the bacon. Two to three pieces should be enough for one sandwich, but you can use as much as you’d like. Once that’s cooked, set it aside and grab the bread. Put some butter and onion jam, if have some, on one side of both pieces and put it down in the same pan you used to cook the bacon. Let the bread get a crust, then add your cheese, bacon and apple slices and close the sandwich. Let it cook until the cheese is melted.
Once it’s done cooking, you can drizzle hot honey on it if you want and enjoy. It’s a delicious fall treat, best paired with some chips or soup. Enjoy!
