For seniors, it is almost time to walk the stage. They are so close to that final day where they can leave high school behind them. However, behind the excitement and anticipation, they all have a bad case of what’s known as “senioritis.” If you are unaware of this term, it is the decline of motivation in a student’s last year of high school or college. By March, these students are mentally checked out. Most have set up their post high school plans and are ready for that final bell to ring. This isn’t just some made up phenomenon, let’s hear from some real C. Milton Wright seniors about their experience:

“I’m going to miss high school a lot. However, I am so excited to start something new and can’t wait to be in Florida”

“It’s gotten a lot harder to pay attention in class and keep up with my schoolwork because of everything else that senior year brings and the nerves for leaving for college. I try my best to stay up with all my work but sometimes it just seems easier to put it aside and focus on the more exciting stuff”
Kendall Faber ‘25-
Committed to University of Tampa
Senioritis Scale: 8/10
“I think my senioritis hasn’t hit yet because I keep myself busy at school! Doing things I like here makes me want to go to school.”

“Every week I feel like the school days get one hour longer and time moves even slower”
