Winter sports are a thrilling way to embrace the colder months and stay active. From the adrenaline of finishing the track race to the quick movements of basketball. Students can find camaraderie and challenge in team sports like basketball or explore the tumbling in cheer. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or trying something new, winter sports provide an excellent opportunity to stay fit, have fun, and make lasting memories.
At C. Milton Wright, winter sports include Track, Swimming, Basketball and Cheer and Wrestling. If you’re interested in trying out for a winter sport, there is a Winter Sports Parent meeting for you and your family to meet your coaches prior to the season. This will be held at C. Milton Wright High School in the Cafeteria at 6:30pm on October 30th. Tryouts start on 11/15, depending on the sport you’re trying out for, the times will be different.
Even if you don’t end up trying out for any of these sports, attending these games and events are so fun to be at. The student section at basketball games is always fun, you sing chant and cheer on your team. November is an overlapping month from the final games of the fall sports like Football, to the tryouts beginning in the middle of the month, there are not many winter games yet. Currently we have November 1st Football plays Harford Tech at C. Milton Wright, which is also senior night. JV is at 4:00pm Varsity is at 7:00pm. November 25th Girls Basketball play Kenwood at C. Milton Wright, JV at 4:00pm and Varsity at 5:30pm. On this same date, Boys Basketball also plays Kenwood at Kenwood, JV at 3:45pm Varsity at 5:30pm.
