Wawa is a popular gas station that I’m sure all of you reading know of, along with Royale Farms. Almost every day I drive by these two gas stations, that are right next to each other, and it always makes me think, which ones better? On the top 10 gas stations list Royale Farms is the 4th most popular, while Wawa isn’t even on there. This brought me to the idea of going to both, getting the same items, and reviewing them. I decided to get something that would be equal, because Royale Farms is best known for their chicken, while Wawa is most known for their hoagies/sandwiches. So, I figured that a chicken sandwich would be perfect. Along with that I got an order of fries, and a milkshake. The milkshakes at Wawa are handmade, while the ones at Royale Farms, you “make” yourself, they have a machine where you pick what flavor you want, put it in the cup holder, choose how thick you want it and watch it being made. I decided to pick cookies n’ creme for both flavors.
After I acquired all the Items, I found a place to sit and eat. The first thing I did was try the sandwiches. I got spicy chicken for both, with only mayo and pickles. I bit into the Wawa one first. It wasn’t very crispy, but it was hot, the bread was average, and the pickles didn’t taste like much. After that I took a bite of the Royale Farms sandwich, and it was much better. The sandwich was crispy, the bread was very soft, and the pickles were delicious. Royale Farms won this one.
The next thing I tried were the fries. I had one of the Wawa’s first. It had a nice crisp and was soft on the inside and was well seasoned. Royale Farms reminded me of the school fries, as they are the same style. They didn’t have much crispiness, but were very soft in the middle and were steaming. I think the Wawa fries were much more seasoned, and crispy on the outside so Wawas were better. Last, was the milkshake. I took a sip of the Wawa milkshake, and it was fantastic. You could taste the cookies, and it was very smooth. When I tried Royale Farms, I immediately knew who’s was better. I don’t know if the machine was working the best because there were multiple clumps, and it was difficult to drink even though I had pressed the “Thin” option.
All things considered, Wawa was the winner. The chicken sandwich at Royale Farms was better, but considering the price, amount of fries, and quality of the shake, it was clear that Wawa is superior.
