Our favorite Pouge’s are back with Season 4, part 1, of Outer Banks now streaming on Netflix! This season of Outer Banks is coming out in 2 parts which is equally frustrating and super exciting. The next part comes out November 7th so here are some details about part one!
I have been watching Outer Banks with my friend and fellow Pony Express writer, Annabelle Lathroum since the first season in 2020. Even though Annabelle believes that the show has begun to decline, we decided to give this season a shot, and the first 5 episodes did not let us down!
Before we even started watching the new season, I interviewed Annabelle to hear more about her thoughts on the show. She said that in 2020 when the first season came out, the show completely blew up and she heard about it from friends. At first, she thought it was scary, but eventually the cliffhangers at the end of each episode had her hooked. Most viewers noticed that the first three seasons were a bit disappointing with their seemingly never-ending plot. When I asked Annabelle about her hopes for the new season, she said, “I want to see them go back to being just regular Pouge’s instead of going on unrealistic magical treasure hunts.” She also said, “I hope they can make their way back to season one vibe.”
After watching the first part we were very impressed, the new plot is a thrilling adventure seeing how the Pouge’s have altered their lives with the treasure they acquired last season. Of course, it didn’t take long for them to get into trouble again and need more money. Annabelle said that the season has been a hit so far with the return of old characters like Rafe and the introduction of new ones like Sofia. We can’t help but hope that they join the Pouge’s in their adventures. Despite currently being incomplete, Outer Banks has once again secured the #1 spot on Netflix’s global top 10. The season has had 35,200,000 hours viewed which is equal to about 4,018 YEARS! I’d say that’s a clear success.
