C. Milton Young Life club is a vibrant community dedicated to making meaningful relationships and personal growth among high school students. Young Life provides a welcoming environment where everyone can explore their faith, new friends and engage in fun activities. Through various events and gatherings, they aim to create lasting memories and support each other in navigating the challenges of teenage life.
C. Milton Young Life meets every Monday and does new fun activities to finish off your bad Mondays. Young Life motivates you to join by posting on their social media and invites from current members. Annabelle Lathroum is a current member of Young Life and has been for a while. She says, “Carol (the young life leader) invited her to join and motivated her to come out to see what is all about, Annabelle loved it and invited one of her best friends Cameryn Loper. Cameryn Loper says, “I also was mentioned by Carol and Annabelle and my dad used to go to Young Life during high school, so I got it from that too.” As you can see, Young Life clubs have been around for a while in Harford County. Young Life is a county-wide club, schools from where friends from different schools can go and hang out.”
As I said, memories are always made in clubs like these. Annabelle and Cameryn also share a favorite memory from Young Life. Annabelle says, “Summer camp was really fun this year and this year it was like a smaller college campus with all these fun things to do and there was a water obstacle course at the camp and were all tackling each other into the water.” Sounds so fun! Cameryn shares her favorite memory, “I got chosen to come up for a game and I had to take my shoes and socks in front of everyone and everyone was laughing so hard, and it was something that I just will always remember.”
Being a part of this club changes you in many ways. You make so many different friends that you wouldn’t usually bond with from other schools. “It’s like another family now” Cameryn Loper says. If you hadn’t ever met these people life would be so different in so many ways. Young Life encourages anyone to come even if you aren’t religious, it can be the place you find God or have a safe place to have fun and bond with new people. It teaches students to go out of their comfort zone and do stuff you thought you would never do and turns out to be the funniest thing you could’ve ever done. “It’s such a place to be yourself and find your real personality” Cameryn says.
In conclusion, Young Life Club is more than just a group; it’s a family where everyone is valued and supported. By participating, students not only grow in their faith but also develop strong friendships and life skills that will benefit them for years to come. Young Life is committed to creating an inclusive and uplifting environment where every member can thrive and feel a sense of belonging. Join Young Life and be a part of something truly special!
