Boo-boos
When I was young, probably around 4 or 5, I was clumsy. Clumsy enough that I slammed my finger in the car door while reaching for my princess purse outside of my daycare. It left a hefty scratch and stayed for about a month. Funnily enough, it was on my middle finger, which I had no knowledge of the meaning. For that month, I decided everyone needed to see that I was a big girl and got hurt but didn’t cry. Although, the only finger I needed to show was the injured one. See where I’m going? I was confused about why everyone looked at me shocked for years after, now I look back and laugh. Could you imagine a 4- or 5-year-old girl flipping you off? Of course not! If my mother didn’t remember the events so well, I couldn’t imagine it either. For me though, thanks to my mother, I have a subconscious picture of 4-year-old me flipping off different people – strangers, daycare employees, family, even friends!
