After a 1-0 win over North Harford in the regional semifinals, the girls soccer team gears up for regional finals against Rising Sun. The team consists of several skilled players, two of them being senior, Sydney Little and junior, Ava Lewis. Aside from being key assets to the team, they are also an unstoppable duo on and off the field. Their close friendship outside of soccer allows them to work efficiently together on the field, as they fully trust one another and can give completely honest feedback.
When it comes to getting pumped for game day, whether it is a pregame song or a superstitious ritual, Syd and Ava take different approaches. Before every game, Syd makes sure to take a cold shower, drink a liquid IV, and listen to Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill. Ava always listens to Surround Sound by J.I.D. feat. 21 Savage and Baby Tate before every game, and she also makes sure that her foot is already on the field during the team cheer, before the game starts. Syd and Ava became best friends through soccer and have created many memories over the past two years playing together. One of those memories, both Syd and Ava reminisce about, is when they threw a cupcake at the portable wall last year after winning a game, and some of its remains are still there to this day. This will be their last year playing together as Syd will be graduating, but both have cherished the bittersweet memories they have created that will last a lifetime.
