This month, we are excited to showcase Mrs. Martinek, a loving biology and anatomy teacher at C. Milton Wright High School. An amazing member of the CMW staff for seven years, Ms. Martinek currently teaches Biology and Anatomy/Physiology.
Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Martinek worked at Kennedy Krieger in Baltimore. She specialized in the Neurology Lab. Her time running the lab was special, but she soon realized her true passion was in teaching! Therefore, her journey into education began.
Her favorite class to teach is Anatomy/Physiology. Ms. Martinek loves how she gets to help students who want to further their understanding of anatomy and use that to help others as they move on in the medical field. This year, she also loves teaching biology, helping kids with subjects like DNA and Microscopes which can help further their education in science!
Ms. Martinek stays involved outside the classroom. She runs the school’s Junior Class Council, HOSA, and Green Team!
Outside of school, Ms. Martinek’s favorite thing to do is be with her family. She loves spending time with them and as they grow! If not she’s not with family, she is outside hiking, on the water or working on her 100th project for the year!
A quote that Mrs. Martinek uses all the time that helps students succeed and grow in her class is “You got this!” which is an awesome quote to help others, especially if they are stuck in class and doubt their capabilities!
Ms. Martinek is a terrific example of what it means to be both a dedicated teacher and a person who inspires others to grow. We’re lucky to have her at C. Milton Wright! Go Mustangs!
