We all know the four different seasons in the year – winter, spring, summer, and fall. But among all these seasons, summer is the most eagerly anticipated. Summer is a time everyone wants to enjoy and relax. There are various things to do in the summer season. For example, people love going on vacation. There are so many different activities like hiking and touring places, staying at resorts, and going to beaches. The weather is always good for travelling.

Everyone works so hard during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are relatively stress free, relaxing, and fun. You don’t have to worry about homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies or shows and eating junk food, and then waking up late and having brunch.

Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. There is such a variety of concerts coming up this summer. Such as, Thomas Rhett in the Baltimore Arena, Big Time Rush, Artic Monkeys and Tyler Childres at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, Beyonce at the FedEx Field in North Englewood, MD, Guns N’ Roses in Hershey Stadium in PA, and so many more. There are also a ton of festivals coming up such as the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware, Springfest Festival in Ocean City, MD and Coachella in Indio, California.

You can never get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as: swimming, sports, picnics, and barbeques. Unlike in the spring, winter and fall where you are limited in day activities because of factors like the fact that it gets dark sooner.

Summer evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The summer evenings are beautiful because it’s still warm, so you can still enjoy your time outside, compared to the other seasons where the temperature drops at night. It also calls for extremely vibrant sunsets, especially on the water. My favorite memory at the beach in Ocean City for example is watching the sunset from my friend’s condo and eating pizza. We had so much fun just talking about our plans for the next year and where we were getting ice cream later.

One of the best events of the year is the fourth of July. The celebration of July 4th is different for everyone, but it’s not ever been a fun experience for me personally. Watching the fireworks, especially at the beach, is what I enjoy most about the holiday. As well as spending time with my family at my grandma’s house, which is where we go every year.

Fall, winter, and spring all occur during the school year which is a deal-breaker for me. Although Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter all occur during these three seasons, they still don’t compete with summer. Summer is the full package with no school, more free time, vacations, less stress, concerts, etc.

The weather in summer is also incomparable, so, although summer is the hottest time of the year, that’s part of why it’s the best time of the year. That’s ultimately what makes it the best season!
