Healthy Habits for Spring

Savannah TerVeen

Spring is the season of new beginnings, so there is no better time to start working on yourself. Here are some more healthy habits for you to try this season.

Spring cleaning

There is no better way to start fresh than to clean and reorganize your space. Studies have shown that living in a clean environment can improve your sleep, mood, and ability to focus. Invest in some cute storage containers, cleaning supplies, and new décor to make your space feel shiny and new! You will feel so much more comfortable and accomplished.

Go outside

Now that the days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer, dedicate a portion of your day to getting some fresh air. Try drinking your morning coffee outside or taking an afternoon walk. Maybe even pick up a new hobby like gardening! It is important to get some vitamin D, just make sure you wear sunscreen!

Do you struggle with going to sleep early? If so, it might be time to readjust your nighttime routine to aid you in your sleep. According to the CDC, teens should be getting 8-10 hours of sleep every night. After adjusting your schedule according to how long you want to sleep you can begin thinking about your nighttime routine. Some things that may be beneficial are turning your phone off two hours before bed, drinking some sleepy time tea, reading, journaling, or taking a warm shower or bath. Do what makes you feel relaxed!
