The college basketball season did not disappoint. Chaos occurred between the 68 teams competing for a National Championship. We have seen it all this March including upsets, Cinderella stories, and final appearances. Millions of brackets were busted, but the powerhouse teams still advanced. The final four was between the Duke Blue Devils vs the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Kansas Jayhawks vs the Villanova Wildcats. The Jayhawks advanced to the championship and beat the Tar Heels to be crowned the 2022 National Champions.

The Kansas Jayhawks performed the biggest comeback in NCAA Tournament history to beat the UNC Tar Heels 72-69. The Jayhawks had balanced scoring including 5 players scoring 12 points or over which led the Jayhawks on their comeback. Wilson and McCormack led the team with 15 points which caused the Jayhawks to win its fourth title.

There were many shining moments throughout the tournament and one of those highlights include the St. Peters Peacocks. The #15 St. Peters Peacocks shocked the world by beating dominant teams including Kentucky, Murry State, and Purdue. St. Peters’s Cinderella story was more difficult than others. Throughout the season, the team had significant budget constraints and flooding occurred in their basketball offices. Throughout the adversity, the Peacocks surprised basketball fans and the players should be extremely proud of themselves

Another significant moment from the tournament included the Final Four matchup between the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels. This game did not disappoint fans by being a back-and-forth battle for an entire 40 minutes. The Tar Heels ended Coach K’s career by beating the Blue Devils 81-77. North Carolina fans are elastic after beating their rival and handing Coach K two losses in his final season.

There were many big moments from this year’s tournament which have made the 2022 men’s basketball tournament unforgettable.
