After losing to Bel Air and Patterson Mill, the C. Milton Wright swim team finished the regular season strong with a win against Joppatowne High School. The team is now preparing for the county championship which will take place on February 8th for girls and February 9th for boys.

Senior Jamie Hanson came into the season with many aspirations. “I want to consistently break a minute in my 100 free and improve my techniques and time in my 50 free. Coming back after a year of not swimming, I thought I was going to struggle with meeting my goals, but I’m surrounded by constant support and motivation, making it easy for me.” Sophomore Alan Chan added, “I want everyone to know that they worked their hardest and tried their best, even if they did not meet their expectations. It is everyone’s job to help each other out, through the good times and bad times.” The team has high hopes for the rest of the season despite their recent outcomes against Bel Air and Patterson Mill.

The ultimate goal is to win counties and qualify for states. Hanson claimed, “our team has put in immense effort to get where we are right now, and I am confident with the direction we are headed.” In addition to counties, the team will be participating in the regional tournament on February 19th and looks to come together and win.
