During the summer, staying fit is easier. You can walk outside, go hiking, swimming, running. But in the winter, we’re more forced to being inside. There are a lot of things you can do in the winter, more than one may realize.

In Bel Air, there are plenty of gyms to join. For example, Planet Fitness located in Forrest Hill costs $10.00 a month. Anytime Fitness located in Bel Air North is $39.00 a month. Another popular gym in the area is The Arena Club located in Churchville that is $60.00 a month. Joining a gym is a great way to stay in shape in the winter because you can run, lift and swim all indoors.

Another option to staying fit is getting workout accessories and working out at home. You can get workout accessories from local stores like Target, Dicks Sporting Goods, or even Five and BelowTop things I would recommend getting are weights, resistance bands and kettle bells. With these there is a great variety of workouts to do to train a wide variety of muscles.

Staying in shape doesn’t just mean working out, it also means eating healthy. If lifting heavier weights, you need to drink/eat more protein to restore your body after a tough workout. Make sure you’re eating a variety of fruits, vegetables and carbs. Also try to keep in mind the amount of processed foods, sugar and sodium you’re taking into your body.

I hope you enjoy these tips and have a good winter. Staying in shape is a very important prospect of good health. Stay safe and motivated!
