As the year is ending, people are starting to make their New Year’s Resolutions once again. Everyone has a different view on resolutions. I spoke with some of C. Milton Wright’s teachers and students to get their thoughts on New Year’s resolutions and talk about their goals.

A few senior girls shared their resolutions with me. Carolynne Humphries wants to work on self-care in the new year to better herself. Jessica Sparr says she resolves to “get skinny” and she will do this by eating less snacks. Morgan Kistler’s main goal for 2020 is to see the Jonas Brothers live.

The teacher’s resolutions were health related. Mrs. Sostak wants to give up fast food for the entire year. This was also her resolution last year, but she did not make it past April. Mrs. Sebastiani wants to get in shape in 2020.

Even with all the hype of New Year’s resolutions, some people choose not to participate in this activity. Camden Doherty does not participate in New Year’s resolutions because he strives to be his best self all the time.

In looking for New Year’s resolution ideas for 2020, here are some goals to try out. For more peace of mind, try looking at every day as a new beginning, and try new organizational strategies. For better physical health, try taking the stairs instead of elevators, eat more grens, and work on a healthy sleep schedule. It is also fun to explore new things such as taking a yoga classes, or learning an instrument. Make goals that are realistic and achievable for the most success in 2020.
