Sugar Overload Cookies

Camden Doherty

This recipe is very easy to do, and it only takes around 45 minutes to make.  This is my take on a family tradition mixed with a food network favorite.  It’s a kid favorite packed with a lot of candy and sugar.

½ cup of heath bits

¾ cup of Reese’s chips

¾ cup of pretzel M&M’s or peanut M&M’s can be up to 1 cup

3/8 cup of chocolate chips

1 egg yolk and one full egg

1 table spoon of vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

½ cup granulated salt

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 sticks of butter

2 ¼ cups of flour

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk the flour and baking soda in a separate bowl.  Cream the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar on low speed until incorporated, then increase to high speed and beat until light and fluffy.  Add the salt, vanilla, whole egg and egg yolk to the mixer; beat until thoroughly combined.  Beat up all the candy and chocolate ingredients so they are no longer solid pieces.  Add the M&M’s and then add then add the flour and baking soda mixture.  Then add the rest of the chocolate and all the candy pieces.  Then chill in the fridge until the oven is ready to go.  When chilled roll the dough into tablespoon balls and spread them out on the cookie sheets.  Cook for 10 to 12 minutes I recommend about 11 and check on them about 5 minutes and 10 minutes to make sure there are not getting over cooked.  When cooked take them out of the oven let them cool for a couple and move to the rack.
