Marching Band Showcase

The Marching Mustangs had an excellent showing Sunday at Bel Air High for the HCPS Band Showcase. Each public High School in the County put on a great performance at the Showcase. The order went from least members in the band to the greatest. So Joppatowne started off and C. Milton Wright ended the show off. Joppatowne opened with their rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” before their originally programmed routine.

But after about two hours, the Mustangs finally took the field. Led by the three Drum Majors, Zach Ewing, Kyla Ghiradello and Falan Laguere. Below them are the wonderful captains such as Jace Pibil and Nick Hamann, followed by the numerous Section Leaders.

The Mustangs theme this year was “Uprising” which featured selections such as “Clarity” by Zedd, “Uprising” by Muse along other pieces. The Band puts in a tremendous amount of work to get this performance perfect. The students, the teachers and the volunteers spend much time making sure they are ready to go.

Senior Brass Captain Jace Pibil said “I was more excited than usual for this showcase. Last year’s Showcase was cancelled, which was a bummer, so I’m ready to end my High School Marching career with a bang!” The Marching season is essentially over for them. They have a couple Holiday Parades in White Marsh and Bel Air, and then its off to Concert season. The Mustangs wanted to impress Sunday at the showcase, and they did that and so much more.
