It’s November, the time of year again when men put down their razors and trimmers and let their beautiful facial hair grow long and free. All over the world it is a yearly tradition for men of all ages to partake in the long hairy journey to raise an awareness for colorectal cancer patients. Instead of the election, men will have to decide on whether they should grow out their hair or just leave it be.

November is notorious for its football, Thanksgiving, and colorful warm colored trees. For men, it’s more of a fabulous excuse to let their hair grow without their wives and girlfriends complaining about it. November is a time to grow out stylish mustaches and pirate beards to show others their support for a great cause.

Many people partake in No Shave November but don’t know the reason for it. Just as people wear pink during football games to support breast cancer awareness and teens would pour buckets of ice on their head to raise awareness for ALS, the No Shave November trend is just as important in making people aware of colorectal cancer.

Several male students at CMW will be participating in No Shave November.

CMW soccer player, Conner Appleby said, “I know I can’t wait to grow out some sexy stubble.”

A lot of the students don’t have the ability to grow out nice facial hair, so they’ve decided to grow their hair out to long and extensive lengths.

RJ Kistler claimed, “I still have a baby face but just wait for my luscious blonde hair this November.”

Many men don’t realize the positive outcomes for not shaving in November.  This trend is used to spread the awareness and support for those who are combating colorectal cancer.  This is the best time of year for men to finally let it “go and grow” to show their support for National Colorectal Cancer Month.
